Existence of such a place as "Nantucky."?
August 26, 1837. |
Can any ot our readers enlighten us as to the whereabouts of a place called Nantucky, to which The Australian of yesterday informs us the whaling ship Ploughboy belongs? We thought we had known the names, at least, of all the seaports from which whalers were forwarded to this quarter of the globe, but we are constrained to confess our ignorance not only of the geographical position, but actually of the existence of such a place as "Nantucky." — Sydney Gazette, August 26, 1837).
